Opening Macardo Swiss Distillery

Macardo Swiss Distillery opens its new building on Saturday, November 28, 2020. Due to the current Corona situation, however, without an open day - but with a replacement program.

On November 28, 2020, Macardo Swiss Distillery will open its new building in Amlikon-Bissegg in the canton of Thurgau. Due to the current Corona situation, however, without an open day. On the opening day, the walk-in store will be open in compliance with Corona security measures. Guided tours in small groups will be offered from Monday 30 November 2020. The celebration will have to wait. Anticipation is the order of the day.

A tour of Switzerland's most modern distillery with Europe's most innovative barrel storage facility, insights into the 12 stylish B&B rooms and apartments, a visit to the Event Room and the Honesty Bar with Cigar Lounge, a tasting in the whisky tent, and the enjoyment of regional specialties in the festive restaurant: these would have been just a few of the cornerstones of the supporting program for the open day. It should have been a celebration for the entire region. The festival will now have to wait. "Safety first. The CoVid19 location does not allow large events. Two weeks ago, we already made the decision in the opening OC," owner Martina Bössow explains the cancellation of the open house on November 28/29, 2020. "Nevertheless, we will open on November 28, 2020 and start operating the distillery, the premium B&B, the event location and the Honesty Bar with Cigar Lounge. Countless people have been working intensively towards this in recent months," Bössow continues.

On the opening day of November 28, 2020, visitors will have the opportunity to visit the walk-in store on site. "With a security concept, we can provide a shopping experience in the new store despite Corona. We will present our award-winning fine spirits as well as a world first for all whisky fans. You can also stock up on Macardo disinfectant. By visiting the store, we can at least show our products in the best light. And visitors get a first impression of the new Macardo world. With this, we want to create anticipation," Martina Bössow explains the light opening.

And guided tours do not have to be dispensed with altogether: As an alternative, Macardo is offering free guided tours in small groups of 6 people from Monday, November 30, until the end of December 2020. The dates can be reserved from mid-November via the website www.macardo.ch. Interested parties are advised to make a reservation early. The store, the Premium B&B, the Honesty Bar with Cigar Lounge and the event location will also be open from November 30. Detailed information can be found on the website.
