Thurgau, also known as ‘Mostindien’, has much more to offer than just fruit and vegetables. Not least, it boasts an exquisite variety of wines that will surprise you. Across the six wine-growing regions of Thurgau, there are around 160 winegrowers and 36 wineries.

The taste of Macardo wine
Our white wine is characterised by a fruity bouquet combining citrus and pineapple. The exquisite Müller-Thurgau, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Seyval Blanc grapes perfectly round off the refreshing flavour and ensure a long, lingering finish. It is therefore ideal for light dishes, summer salads or simply as a treat between meals.
With the red Cuvée, you’ll be delighted by our long-standing tradition of artisanal enjoyment. A distinctive, full-bodied flavour created from a blend of Pinot Noir, Merlot and Dornfelder grapes. On tasting, you’ll notice the intense fruity aroma of black berries. The very fine, full-bodied tannins ensure a long and fragrant finish. That’s why our red wine is best enjoyed with meat dishes, hearty Swiss stews or fine cheese.
The story behind Macardo wine
Macardo wines pay homage to Thurgau’s wine culture and are also a symbol of our tradition of enjoyment. That is why the Macardo white wine ‘19’ and the red wine cuvée ‘04’ complement the year 1904.
The former cheese dairy in which we now distil our spirits was established in 1904. Since November 2020, the Macardo Distillery has been located there. For more than 100 years, this place has been nurturing a tradition of artisanal enjoyment.
Our wines embody 100% Thurgau. Made from the finest Thurgau AOC wine grapes, refined in Thurgau and bottled there too – in a limited edition. The grapes are grown and tended at the Saxer vineyard.
