Rum is one of the oldest liquors there is, and Swiss rum a rarity. Rum is made from sugar cane molasses. Top-quality sugar cane molasses from India and Nicaragua are used in the Swiss rum Macardo Señor Rum. The Indian sugar molasses is floral, flowery, and fresh, while the Nicaraguan molasses is earthy, leathery, and powerful. The two molasses are fermented separately in Switzerland using select special yeasts, distilled over a wood fire in small batches, and then stored for several years in used whisky casks. Sophisticated blending, following a top secret recipe, transforms the pure Swiss rum produced according to this method into genuine Macardo Señor Rum. A Swiss rum well worth buying.
