Macardo wines

Distinctive wines from Thurgau

Thurgau, also known as "Mostindien", has much more to offer than fruits and vegetables. Not least also excellent wines in a variety that will surprise you. In the six wine-growing regions in Thurgau there are around 160 vine growers and 36 wineries.

Taste of Macardo wine

Our white wine is characterized by a fruity bouquet from a combination of citrus and pineapple. The selected grapes Müller-Thurgau, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Seyval Blanc perfectly round off the refreshing taste and provide a persistent long finish. It is therefore perfect for light dishes, summer salads or simply for in between.

With the red wine Cuvée you can be surprised by our long tradition of artisan enjoyment. A distinctive full-bodied taste that comes from a composition of grapes Pinot Noir, Merlot and besides Dornfelder. When tasting, you can perceive the intense fruit aroma of black berries. The very fine, full-bodied tannins provide a long and fragrant finish. Therefore, our red wine is best enjoyed with meat dishes, hearty Swiss stews or fine cheeses.

The story behind Macardo wine

The Macardo wines are a tribute to the Thurgau wine culture and at the same time a symbol for our tradition of enjoyment. Therefore complement the Macardo white wine "19 and the red wine cuvée "04 complement the year 1904.

In 1904, the former cheese dairy in which we now distill our distillates was built. Since November 2020, the Macardo distillery is located in it. For more than 100 years, this place has been cultivating artisan tradition of enjoyment.

Our wines embody 100% Thurgau. Made from the finest Thurgau AOC grapes, refined in Thurgau and bottled there as well - in limited editions. The grapes are grown on the Saxer vineyard and cultivated.
